A beautiful little girl with huge blue eyes and long blond hair in ringlets, c.1830s. She's a gem, tiny painting, and seems possible she was once part of jewelry (see mount and backside view). White gathers and lace in her off-shoulder dress along with her hair help in identifying the date of her portrait, but we have no artist signature and no ID. Sweetest little thing, she has a hairline to left of her face that does traverse the wafer. I have not tried to take her from the mount, fearing a separation. I've photographed her from a variety of angles so you can best evaluate it, as it is tight and disappears from some angles of view. Fortunately, not across her face at all. Measurements are noted on the photos, but her face is just 5/8", chin to hairline.
Very good condition for age and type. She's nearly 200 years old as you see her. A child then about 3-4 years of age, one wonders what became of her, or if she lived to adulthood. So many children didn't in that time. Noted: the hairline mentioned above, marked on the photos for review.
