The French champleve enamel work on this rare fine pair of easel frames is done in the manner of plique du jour, and is pristine. The old original thick and beveled glass remains with each one and I think the pair of carte d' visits photographs are original, likely a wedding portrait pair. Carte d' visits paper photos were the first paper photos, and date c.1860s, mostly replaced by larger cabinet card photographs by 1870s. Full measurements noted on photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, the only tiny flaw notable would be nips at the corners of the old glass (marked with x). They're very small and also are covered by the frame when in place. The glass is over 1/4" in thickness and beveled which draws in light. The art of enameling is at its apex in these, and I expect they're the work of Barbedienne, foundry and decorative arts atelier, Paris. The frames are spring-loaded, and you lift the top fronton which releases the photo and glass (see images). Hinged easel backs and also a hanging loop. More beautiful in person!
