Sweet little thing, this petit wall shelf with the unusual figure of a hound, dog. Normally these will have a stag's head or perhaps birds, but as rare as dogs are, we couldn't pass this one by. Likely someone's souvenir of a Grand Tour trip to the Alps. Photos show it well, and measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good condition for age and type, late 1800s to perhaps 1920, the dog has nice form and anatomy and not a single chip or loss. There are, quite visible, a few old woodworm holes on this old one. Nothing active and no pithiness anywhere, just the usual few holes. A tiny nip to the beveled upper shelf's edge, visible in our photos. Measurements are noted on photos.
