Whether you decide to frame it and hang as wall decor or art, or you plan to mount it to cabinetry in your own home, or have a project in mind for which this will become a door - all things are possible with this stunningly beautiful hand carved panel. A Neoclassical to Neo-gothic aesthetic, you see the figural forms of a pair of Griffen, Gryphon, there toward the arched top. Large in size and nicely preserved, it's sure to be the perfect accent. I love these as doors for recessed cabinets in bathrooms, or as door to a recessed wine cabinet in kitchen or dining room.  As beautiful as a painting if framed, too. Full measurements are noted on our photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, Master-carver's work on this one. There are no chips nor cracks or damaged areas to have to work around. From the backside you can see the joint where the flat boards have been joined, but they remain solidly together. This would have been a door inset with thicker wood frame - a door or panel in a hutch or cabinet, or a section of paneling in some grand room. Dates 19th century, last half. Found in France.
