Interesting antique Victorian era genuine horn & silver plate (?) snuff mull or incense burner with chatelaine style chain. This one a bit of a mystery but I’m guessing an incense burner is more likely than a snuff given that it has an open top with no lid of any sort and no sign that there ever was one. Made the same way, with a genuine horn as the vessel though the open and reticulated top is odd. I see no hallmarks on the silver and am assuming it’s silver-plate rather than sterling but haven’t tested it either way. If any of you viewers think you might know its original intended purpose, please email…I’d love to know. Thanks!
Good to very good condition, age and materials considered. There is a lighter spot near the middle of the inside curve of the horn, not sure what that might signify. Some wear and tarnish to the silver top but no other flaws to note. See pictures for all measurements.
