While there are no signatures on the antique French porcelain vase, people refer to them as Old Paris or sometimes, wishfully, as Sevres. Often they were made in matching pairs as mantel garnitures centered by a porcelain clock. Sometimes they were made over as electric lamps, and that is the case with this elegant large one. Wired for USA current, relatively recently adapted from old French wiring, the porcelain and bronze champleve enamel mounts and alabaster plinth tell us the oldest part of this is 11.5" tall. Adding the harp and shade, the lamp is 23" as it stands here. Lovely, and ready to "plug and play", boudoir or desktop. or any spot needing a highlight for your collections.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, a little nod to light loss of enamel on the champleve enameled top and bottom fitting. The hand painted and raised gold enamel decorated porcelain is excellent, no chips, no crazing and no hairlines or cracks, no restorations. Alabaster plinth on heavy brass base is surprisingly sturdy, non-tip. The linen shade is modern. Wiring is excellent and as noted, US current. Full measurements are noted on the photos.
