Gorgeous antique French hallmarked sterling silver, wheel cut & intaglio etched or engraved glass 4pc vanity set including two larger graduated perfume or cologne bottles, a lovely large vanity box or jar and displayed on a large 16" silver-plate mirrored tray! The three sterling topped pieces with fluted lower bodies and the upper portions with engraved floral & foliate garland. One of a few sets of matching antique to vintage French sterling topped vanity sets that we currently have available so, if you're looking for a few pieces to display in a guest or master bath, be sure to browse a little while you're with us. They really do add a touch of elegance, displayed on an old silver tray or even just by themselves, grouped near the sink perhaps. This set consisting of two bottles or decanters, one 7 1/4" tall and the other slightly smaller at 5 5/8" tall and a wonderful matching rectangular shaped jar. All with a ribbed or fluted lower bodies, foliate garland patterns cut cut or engraved above and elegant French sterling tops. The silver portions all bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver. The silversmith marks are for Tetard Freres, Paris circa 1903. We're pretty sure the tray is not original but this is how we found the set in France and so we're offering as such. The tray has a silver plated frame, with a small hallmark though I can't quite make it out. Fabulous, don't miss them!
Very good condition. There is a bit of cloudiness or scratching to the bottom of the jar, visible in the images. A small dimple or two possible to the silver tops but no larger dents, damage or repairs to note other than a few darkened spots to the mirror's silvering. Interior stoppers are intact on both perfumes, there is a small hairline crack just inside the neck of the larger bottle but it does not effect it in any way. See pictures for all measurements.
