Fabulous antique Regency to Victorian era 8 3/8" tall pocket watch display stand, a beautiful desk or mantel top decorative piece in rosewood with ornate boulle style mother of pearl inlays, drawer in base and compartment in rear! Isn't this one gorgeous! Just in from France a few weeks back (I've been enjoying it since). Definitely one for the pocket watch dealer or collector, quite unique and in wonderful condition. It holds up to a 2" pocket watch. Beautiful solid mother of pearl inlays surround the watch display and include a lute or harp with flowers & foliage winding up and around. The front of the drawer also with harp & scrolling foliage and the sides with lovely little dove or bird figures amidst the inlay. Carved accenting and trim, just superb!
Very good to excellent condition! There may be two small strips of the carved trim missing from the sides where the upper watch holding fixture meets the lower drawered base (but, if so, the loss is hidden by their placement and those lovely turned wood accents there. I see no loss to the mother of pearl inlay. See pictures for all measurements.
