Those beautiful Victorian era glass beads in many shades of white to black have been worked so beautifully here. One bead at a time, worked like needlepoint, and then the entire background worked in wool yarns, needlepoint embroidery. The work is just gorgeous on this one. It's been put into a vintage (not original, not antique) frame that suits and displays it very nicely. I do think this panel would be supple and fine enough to make up into a down-filled and opulently fringed throw pillow if that's what you'd like to do. The value is mostly in the panel since the frame is not antique, pretty as it is. 25.25" square (outer frame), you could make a big European sized pillow if you wanted to, or just hang and display it as it is. Stunning fine bead work!
Very good to excellent within the frame. There is a slight fading to the green wool yarns, visible in our images. I don't see any beads gone missing. Very nicely preserved and one of the most appealing of these ever. The pheasant is splendid! Full measurements noted on photos.
