Fine antique French Empire frame from the Napoleon III or 2nd Empire period, during which a revival of Napoleonic aesthetic thrived anew. It is exceptionally large at 10 3/4" tall plus a 1" addition of bow. Rare to find these in large size. This is my favorite type, with bare wood mat and dore bronze appliqué. My own family photo wall and tabletop frames includes many made similarly and of same period or from earlier Napoleon era. Full measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good condition for age and type, you can see that the back has been relined. The original state would have been old moire silk, based on the norm for this era. The wood mat has a hairline shrinkage crack visible to right at top and bottom. Not anything else to report. It remains very beautiful and could easily have a ring mounted to backside to make it a hanging wall frame as well as the easel stand. Tabs are in place. Measurements are noted on photos.
