Each painting is still with its convex cover glass, 18th century family of 4 people, Georgian era English portraits which were likely retained from original frames sometime during the early 1800s and mounted beautifully with a thick gold mat and framed thus. They're all different in size, likely several artist's work. I found them in England, and no identification came along. Most found there are "Estate of a gentleman", or "Anonymous estate". I can see that someone has torn back the original paper backing to this very old frame in hopes of finding writing, but appears nothing is within. That said, I have not opened this one up. All cover glasses are the age of the paintings - c.1750-70s. I would say the gold wood frame is c.1820-50s. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition, beautiful display set. The older woman is particularly delightful. I would only be guessing it is a husband (done earliest - smaller) and then his wife; their son, and perhaps the young woman, largest of all, is the granddaughter, early to mid-1800s who has mounted the family, grandparents, father when young, and her as she's aged. Beautiful portrait miniatures, I do not see a signature on any but they do not seem to be same era, let alone same artist. Family heritage piece.
