Another from my own collections of decades of buying in France - meant to be made into fabulous down-filled pillows with luxurious trims and fringes, French passementerie. I can see I am not going to do the sewing to make these up at this point, and am offering them so you can do so, or just enjoy the panel. This is a long border from a large 17th century tapestry. It has been fully restored already, then mounted to a deep blue velvet long hanging panel 94" long x 14" wide, antique metallic trim bonding the 2, as shown. The very long panel could be finished at outside edges to hang as shown, or cut into sections to create matching and elegant decorator pillows - you'd really only need to set a zipper into a panel of velvet or silk for a backing, then sew those together with some fabulous fringe around the perimeter, add a down-filled pillow form and enjoy them for centuries to come. These pillows, completed, sell for $2k on up. This long panel can make 4-5 pillow tops, easily - maybe 6. Full measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent for age and type. Already has been restored (see some detail photos) and has nothing to do needlework or reweaving upon. Beautifully mounted to a broad panel of heavy dark blue velvet with antique 19th century metallic passementerie trim which is also excellent. RARE figural and florals, pillar and wode blue dyes all elevate this one as best of best. There are no unpleasant odors, very clean.
