Fabulous, tiny antique French hallmarked .800 to sterling silver mesh coin purse, a child or doll sized piece with lovely Art Nouvea style floral frame and chatelaine style ring! One of a few old European silver mesh purses or hand bags that we're working at photographing and listing. This one tiny, the frame a mere 2.25" wide but as skillfully done as any we've had in the past. The inside split into two spaces by a center divider and there are several old French hallmarks visible. I can't quite make out the silversmith mark, as tiny as it is, but you can see the post-1838 French "crabe" or crab hallmark which was used on pieces of at least .800 silver content. Delightful and a perfect accessory for an opulently appointed doll house scene!
Very good condition. As pointed out in the images, there is a small 'hole' near one side of the frame and what looks like some small thread fortification there. Overall wonderful condition. See pictures for all measurements and weight.
