Fine antique American Colonial Revival style F.B. Rogers sterling silver 9 5/8" long sauce ladle, brandy warmer or "silver pipkin" with turned wood handle and in wonderful condition! Here we have a sterling silver brandy saucepan (also called a brandy warmer) with two pouring lips or spouts & original turned wood handle. These were commonly used in the 18th–early 20th centuries for warming brandy or liqueurs, making or reheating sauces or melting butter and alternate names you might see (especially in antiques listings) would be brandy warmer or silver pipkin (a collector's or older term). The silversmith mark is for F.B. Rogers, established in 1883 (hence the 1883 in the marking) though this one likely dates to around the 1920-30s. One of two that we're adding today, among a host of fabulous antique French, European and American sterling silver so, be sure to browse some while you're with us. We love to tempt!
Very good to excellent condition, age considered. I think there might be a small dent to the base, possibly a tiny dimple or two but, as you can see, there are no larger dents, damage or repairs to note. Some age evident in the handle but it's strong, no wobbling. See images for weight and all measurements.
