Lots of ormolu, cast trim and feet and gadroon border on this stunning kingwood jewelry casket, and a compliment of very ornate and fully intact parquet work up top. Note the curving form of the body and of the lid of this box. The original lock and working original key still with it, as well. Very pretty! And an interesting smaller size than many built in this way. The old silk lining is still there, shows some age, some looseness. Measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Stunning veneers, both curving and also the parquet work, and really no loss or damage to any of it. Plentiful cast trim, all still with the box, as are the 4 cast feet. The lock works, original key present. A nod to the age of the silk lining. One might be tempted to re-line the bottom half though for ae it remains quite good. Piping and interior lid lining is very good still. So pretty, this one!
