Incredibly warm palette and subject, perfect for a dining room or living room wall. Soothing composition with autumn harvest colors in both flower bouquet and fruit. Still life at it's most French and fabulous. The painting dates late 1800s, you can see much age in it from the backside where the old wood stretcher and linen canvas, back frame are exposed. Guestimate, since it is not dated, would put it c.1890-1920. Artist has signed the work, upper right corner. I am not able to decipher the name, however, and have not tried to look it up for that reason. More likely a talented amateur, not a listed artist. Decorative and SO appealing! Purchased in France some years ago, of course. It is from my own collection. Everyone loves this painting!
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, the carved wood frame (not appliqué of gesso, but carved) is lovely, has a beautiful old patina to the gilting that enhances the painting and elevates one's pleasure in the view. There are no holes nor restoration to the old canvas. Very nicely preserved. Measurements in full are noted on the photos.
