Elegant antique French hallmarked sterling silver 5pc meat & salad serving utensil or implement set with foliate or acanthus accented raised medallions, interlaced "MD" monograms, original fitted box and all in wonderful condition! A beautiful set, don't you think! Five pieces consisting of a meat carving knife & fork, salad fork & spoon and pele a tarte or pele a pastry serving piece. We're also listing a smaller hors d'oeuvre implement set (sold separately) that matches this set so, guess we're your one stop shop for service pieces if you're in the market. All pieces here bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks designate them as being in .950 silver (95% pure and above the .925 standard for sterling silver). The silversmith marks are for Charles-Alfred Coignet, Paris circa 1865-1889. A wonderful set, one you'll love to get out and use at every occasion.
Very good condition. Some faint surface scuffs indicative of light use. No bends, breaks or repairs to any. The box is also in great shape, age considered, in a black leather with burgundy velvet & red silk or satin interior lining. See pictures for weights and measurements.
