Exceptional & rare antique Swiss Black Forest hand carved 28.5" tall parlor or wall clock with "Fruits of the Hunt" theme, trophy style deer at the top with genuine antlers, deer & game hen hung as if fresh from the hunt and a grouping at the bottom including bow, quiver with arrows amidst oak leaves! Absolutely gorgeous! The carving is of the highest quality and, as you can see, the condition is amazing with its age taken into consideration. The carved facade surrounding the center clock face lifts upward to the inner 'box' that holds the mechanism & face. Even all of the enamel on copper numeral plaques are intact. Large and extremely impressive!
Very good condition. There are a few chips here and there, notably the front hooves of the deer figure. Clock movement entirely intact and winds with the included key. It will tick but this one will need to have a pendulum fitted to it because one wasn't included when we found it. With the age of the piece, a good movement oiling would be a good idea when you take it in to get the pendulum. We do have a clock repairman close by and could see about an estimate for that if you prefer. See pictures for all measurements.
