From my lifelong stash of "to be made up as luxuriant down-filled and lushly-fringed pillow" panels, tapestries, this pair are actually Napoleon III (c.1850-70, mid-Victorian era) panels that were created and never made up into (surely) the stunning set of matching sofa pillows they were intended to become. Fabulous colors to work, the wide outer silk needlework band is actually a bit of a creamy caramel rather than gold as it comes up in a couple of the photos. It's very easy to make your own opulent decorator pillows - these panels are supple, strong, excellent and strong enough for your project. Fabulous colors, one can size in the border of silkworm, or mount that beaded 12" x  9.5" section against your own choice of color in heavy silk or velvet. Just finding them at the warehouse made me ache to get the power sewing machine out. Alas, I'm passing them along to you, decorators. Found in France, archive stored, waiting to be yours. Full measurements noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent unused condition, age and type considered. Strong canvas, worked in beadwork and outer borders of silk needlepoint. canvas border turned under expands the size to work with. I don't believe there's as much as a missing glass bead, nor is there a bug bite to all that silk yarn. Again, glass beads, so the panels are heavy, rich, brilliant in light. Go for it!
