Rare 1810-1820 Spode blue transferware, unusual pickle dish form, Common Wold Trap from Indian Sporting Series, in excellent condition, this one still has the estate owner's notation stickers on backside, giving both auction house and a purchase price in September, 1990 at a price of $662, speaking to the rarity of this particular pottery item. Over 200 years old now, the work is a thing of beauty, a museum piece. Full measurements are noted on our photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, exceptional quality to both the form and the transfer application, speaks to the Spode firm's history. I find no chips, no hairlines, no nips nor cracks. Little if any crazing at all, and a truly beautiful museum collection sample of everyone's favorite blue and white.
