Gorgeous antique to vintage American hallmarked sterling silver 2pc vanity set, a hand mirror & nail buffer with fitted base/tray, both with laurel wreath framed "L" monograms and all in wonderful condition! Mirror like finishes on these, although I did notice a little bit of tarnish is visible when I was working on the images...sorry. I'll make sure to polish them again before shipping. The hallmarks are for Alvin Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island. The company was founded in 1886 and made wares well into the 1900s and is now, from what I can find, a division of Gorham. Simple, yet elegant and how easy is "L"? Someone surely can adopt them easily. Both pieces near perfect, the mirror with the original beveled glass and I can't see any defects to the silvering. The buffer has it's original base tray fitting with vermeil or gold washed interior, original kid leather covering but, if there's supposed to be something else over it, there isn't. A beautiful pair!
Very good to excellent condition. Try not to see the tiny bit of tarnish and these are perfect. Possibly, as with all older sterling pieces, a dimple or two. See images for all measurements.
