Of special interest for collectors of French vanity sets and fine hand crafted Napoleon Era and post-Napoleon field kits, this is a magnificent fitted box with original mirror and silk pad within, protecting the carved handle and 8 tooth cleaning and dental implements within. Perhaps they're not all dental, but I see some that definitely are, including a de-scaler, and toothpick with curved end. I've only ever found 4 of these sets and this one is in the best condition overall. Full measurements noted on the photos, but that box is just 3 1/8" x 2 1/4" x 1". Amazing! I believe the sets were made primarily by a company called Touron, Paris, but this one has no label.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Around 200 - 190 years old, the outer box is in remarkably fine condition with both latches intact. Within, the original mirror is unbroken inside the lid. The carved handle is bone, I think - long striations to it. A small tight hairline for about 1/8-1/4" but not any breaks. Each tool screw-mounts into the same handle and offers a full set. Well, 1 tool 'fold' is not filled, so perhaps 1 tool has been lost.
