Fabulous antique continental German .800 (nearly sterling) silver 10 1/8" salad or dessert serving utensil or implement pair with ornate Louis XVI or rococo style pattern and gilded or "vermeil" bowls with engraved decoration! Medallions on the fronts of the handles sans monogram so you could add your own if you wish. Thick & heavy old silver, the two have a total weight of 245 grams or 7.9 troy ounces. The gold washed bowls on both pieces bear the hallmarks, "Friedeberg" and the German crown, crescent moon & "800" designating them as being in at least .800 or 80% pure silver. The silversmith mark just to the left of the "800" is for M.H. Wilkens & Sohne, founded in 1810 though these likely date to the late 1800s or so. A beautiful set, guaranteed to impress! We also have a boxed 21pc ice cream and/or dessert service in nearly the exact pattern available, too, so be sure to take a look at them while you're with us.
Very good condition. There is some age wear or fading to the gold on the bowls but enough to have the visual appeal. Some light/faint surface marks possible. No bends, damage or repairs to note. See pictures of individual weights and measurements.
