Fabulous antique English Victorian to early Edwardian era 6.5" tall miniature tantalus, likely a perfume or scent caddie in oak with silver plated handle & accents and two cut glass bottles! In the style of the larger liquor tantaluses and as delightful as can be. One could even conjecture that this may have been a salesman's sample, given the detail and materials. Solid oak with silver plated fixtures, one side of the rotating top with handle is printed with "Silver Plate England" and the original lock remains on the opposite side (unfortunately no key though). The two glass 'decanter' bottles with and ornate wheel cut pattern and faceted stoppers. Luckily, they're short enough to tip forward and be removed while the top remains locked. A truly charming decorative accent!
Very good condition, age considered. Some wear to the silver plating in areas (mostly the lower strap style accents). As noted, it's missing the key and stuck in the locket position but the bottles are still removable. One bottle has a chip to an upper corner that looks as though it's been filled with epoxy so it's still water-tight. Some chipping to the tips of the stoppers and possibly a small nip or two elsewhere. See images for all measurements.
