I'm still working through a lifelong collection of antique Italian micro mosaics, and this is a darling little one, never mounted. Some time ago I bought out unmounted gems, cameos and micro mosaics from a generational small jeweler's boutique and some of these unmounted ones were among the collections. The spaniels had been very popular, and while some have curlier colored glass tesserae and can be enormously valued. This is a lesser spaniel but still so sweet. 28mm, ready to be made up into your own jewelry choice. Is it Elisabeth Locke whose jewelry designs using these antique bits have skyrocketed in value? Perhaps eventually you'll see this pup worked up and on her site. I know several of my unmounted items have found home there in the past. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good condition for age and type, very minuscule nicks to beveled ridge, not so much visible to the eye in normal size, but we've greatly enlarged the piece so you can see what would otherwise be missed. No chips or cracks, ready to enjoy as it is or create your own bespoke fine jewelry item.
