Aren't these 2 beadwork fire screen panels gorgeous! While the canvas was made to be used on a pair of tabletop stands, as personal use fire screens, Victorian era (c.1850 for these). On this gorgeous pair (2), it's just perfect to repurpose into the focal tapestry for a lushly fringed and down-filled throw or decorator sofa pillow. This pair will be super-simple to work with - one will only need to hand stitch them onto readymade pillows, or to mount them on some you'll make. Once made up as a pair of beadwork pillows, these becomes 3 times the value. It's an easy project! Full measurements and view of black braid passementerie trim notable on our photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The 2 matching panelsl would be roughly 170 years old, but are undamaged and supple, strong, perfectly preserved and ready to be made over into a magnificent pair of decorator pillow tops. These panels are all glass beads. Strong and supple canvas, these could, technically, just be hand-stitched onto tops of existing pillows (see them posed on backs of a pair of my sofa pillow - a very easy project. There are a few beads missing, but there are lots in the imperfect loop bead fringe at bottom which can be used to replace the 10 or so missing beads. Photos are detailed, please do review with your younger eyes. One of the best panel pairs we've ever found as to quality and condition.
