Gorgeous vintage French hallmarked sterling silver & blown glass 8 1/8" x 5 3/8" flower frog, vase or centerpiece, large, heavy & beautiful! We have a few of these and I'll be getting the others listed in the next week or so surely. Wonderful decorative accents, just add flowers and the display is superb! The sterling band bears the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within that mark means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark is for Laggriffoul & Laval, Paris circa 1899-1972 (quite a long time judging from my experience with Parisian silversmiths. The base of the glass insert is marked "Made in England" so a company in one country collaborated or ordered the complimenting part from the other. Lovely, don't miss it!
Very good condition! A tiny dimple or two to the silver band, possibly a tiny nip or two to the glass but no larger chips, cracks, damage or repairs. Possibly a small crack on the edge of one stem hole but can’t really tell if it’s just a light effect. See pictures for measurements.
