Lovely antique French sterling silver match or toothpick holder in an ornate urn or trophy shaping with flower accented side handles, lion's paw footed base & wonderful condition! No striker, unless you want to try on that guilloche style engraved or machined decoration so it's most likely a toothpick holder. Though I can even picture it being used as an elegant vase or centerpiece in an opulent dollhouse setting... It bears the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within the mark means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and so above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). There may be a tiny and obscured silversmith mark on the base but it's illegible if so.
Very good to excellent condition. Some tarnish to the interior and the right side handle might be "pushed" downward at the top a little but I'm not seeing any dents or repairs. See pictures for measurements.
