Fabulous & rare antique French Napoleon III or Victorian era 12 3/8" wide jardiniere or cache pot, centerpiece, serpentine shaped wood with ornate marquetry style inlay, turned wood feet and gilt ormolu ring side handles! Isn't this one lovely! Quite unique, very thin sold wood with a wonderful undulating or serpentine shape. The inlay wonderful with kingwood outer and darker inlaid patterns encircling the piece. A paper label on the bottom reads "Girard & Co., Place St Pierre, Lyon", likely for the French retailer rather than maker. Lovely!
Very good condition. Excellent really with age and the relatively delicate nature of the piece. A few small rim chips but no other damage or repairs that I see. See pictures for all measurements.
