Cabin, lodge, Country French, English manor - all perfect decors for this perfectly preserved 19th century hand carved Black Forest frame and the colorful and charming needlepoint panel set into it. It's a hat or coat rack, c. 1880-1900, making use of antler tips as the upturned hooks. Clean, fresh, ready to hang from the 1" diameter antique hardware loops still in place on back. The width is 22" largest, would be wonderful in the kitchen of my other home, to hold kitchen towels, actually. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. The antique needlepoint has no losses at all, is incredibly charming. The carved frame also is excellent and has no losses, cracks or breaks. You can see on the backside, a natural separation in the grain, sort of a knot, but that isn't a flaw, and it has wept some sap - that isn't glue. No breaks, no chips.
