From my own collections of decades: Antique 10k Gold and flat face cut garnets hair art mourning brooch, c 1780s to 1820, Georgian Era. Locket front framed in by a border of impossibly tiny seed pearls, which represented the tears of the mourner in that era. Plaiting of brunette hair inside and no engraving on back. I sometimes use these grouped on a jacket lapel, or clasped over a strand of pearls - so many compliments!
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Brooch is 19 mm x 14 mm x 4 mm plus pin back, and garnets are broad face facet cut, no cracks or breaks, tiny seed pearls - none missing. No breaks and no dents. Superb Georgian jewelry!
