Wonderful antique 19th century pencil drawing of two dogs in a beautiful gilt gesso on wood 15.5" x 13 5/8" frame, artist signed with what appears to read "Cousin. L"! Perfect for the collector or dog enthusiast, depicted in a rather playful scene with fence, etc. in the background. One dog seated and the other poised as if startled or getting ready to pounce. Signature in the lower left corner and it appears to read either "Cousin L." or "Cousin R.".
Very good condition. Some darkened spots visible on the drawing itself and some age discoloration but no rips, tears, etc. The frame is in great shape. The rear shows that it has been sealed recently so we're not sure if the frame is original but it works wonderfully either way. See images for all measurements.
