The palette, richness of stroke and vibrance of the whole is incredibly appealing in this French Impressionist painting of an interior. The frame is added later, but the signed painting dates to approximately 1880-1900, to influenced by earlier Impressionist artists, certainly. The color! I am in love with this intimate painting and it's successful composition and dabs of richness that suggest a chair, window, table, and art on walls. The artist signature is visible to bottom right, but I am not able to decipher it in order to do any research. I think it stands on its own merits. Look at the boldness of stroke, the thick impasto wads of oil paint and the way it pulls you back through ever aspect of this one. It really deserves a better frame, but this is how it came to me from France.  Stamps and markings and notations on back. The painting is done on heavy card and not on canvas, so no holes, no losses, no crazing and nothing really to interrupt your thrill at the old artwork. Yes, I found this one in Paris. Measurements noted on our photos.

Very good to excellent for age and type. The frame is not as old as is the painting, though it might be c.1950s. The painting, older still and on heavy card art board. Fabulous palette and thrilling depth of application of each stroke. No damage to note.
