Complete with lock and key, this 3-tier swing away 5-compartment jewelry chest in very fine form for age and type. The thick tuck-tufted inner lining is a royal blue and remains in good form, too. Measurements are noted on the photos, but 11.5" tall, and the birds and nest are nicely carved and in quite complete form (note wing on smaller bird). We can never keep these chests in inventory when they're this nice.
Very good condition for age and type, lining looks very nice for age, box does, as well. Upon close inspection you notice wing damage on the lower bird, but the upper one has its wings, tail, beak all intact. Next with eggs. Working lock with key, which is quite rare, and just a very nice 3-tier chest overall. Carved entirely by hand, linden wood, Swiss carvers.
