Beautiful big dark eyes lush with lashes and a pink cupid bow mouth, this little boy (side-parted hair) seems likely to be a mourning portrait, though the artist seems to have put a lot of life into it, if so. The tiny painting is housed in a 2" diameter French bronze bow top frame (bow adds 1/2" up top) with easel back or hanging loop. The artist has signed the work and I've enlarged it for you, but I can't truly make it out well. The date, however, is clear and is 1909. That beautiful little face is only 1/2" from chin to hairline. I did not take him out of the frame.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, bronze French bow top frame has easel and hanging loop back, still. Original cover glass in place, slightly convex, excellent, as is the painting. I see no chips, no hairlines. Full measurements noted on photos. Found in France.
