Sweet shelf, the open branches below, which support the 12" x 6.5" upper shelf, are the tree into which 2 beautifully hand carved and anatomically elegant birds protect their nest and the 3 eggs within. Surprisingly free of loss or damage, it can display other of your collection of Black Forest carvings, or a clock, vase or your perfume collection in a bathroom. SO lovely! Very good to excellent condition, the tiniest tip of beak blunted bu too other chips or losses. The top of the shelf shows age and a bit of altered stain of the years and use. Not unsightly, really, but bearing mention. I find no splits or cracks. A real treasure!
