A pair of wonderful little frames I bought decades ago in Paris. Wood with opulent ornament and a lemon gilt gold finish. The frames are truly spectacular, and have hung thus in my home for 30 years. The souvenir watercolors framed within are about 30 years old and from an early trip to Rome. They’re an artist’s signed painting, each one: Trevi Fountain and The Pantheon of Rome. They’re beautifully presented in the antique frames, which is where the value lies.  Petit, each measures 9.5" x 8" and is 1 3/8" in depth. The aperture (glass is intact) shows 5.5" x 4 1/8" view.  These are perfect on shelf, on wall, or as major artworks on the walls of your antique Bru or other dolls’ houses. I’ve displayed them alongside lots of little 1800s eglomise souvenir items (back-painted glass) from mostly Paris all these years, and always love seeing them.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. One has a tiny ding, center top in images (Pantheon) and the other has a corner that has been restored some 50 years ago or so, I’d guess (upper left corner (Trevi Fountain). They display beautifully and are top quality French frames dating c. 1890-1920. The watercolors are signed.
