This is an early one! I think 18th century, silk embroidery on silk, it's one continuous and long piece, 64" long in all, and I'm thinking it might have been ornament on a round or hexagonal table. Each 10" long section is embroidered in such fine work, it certainly was a piece fit for royalty, and that crown can affirm it. A monogram, but I'm unsure of it. I do think it's an ecclesiastical trim item - in any case, it just begs to be used again, or made up into tops of throw pillows, or perhaps a window valance?  You'll think of the perfect way to bring it forward into your decor. The metallic fringe is 1.5" long, lush and thick and complete. Catholic, perhaps, and found in France. Full measurements are noted on the photos.

Very good condition for age and type, this is silk embroidery on silk satin, and of sufficient age that there are a few weakened areas of the silk satin. I've tried to show all. Some sections are suitable for pillow top, some might be too fragile. The silk work is exquisite and has no losses. Likewise the metallic thread fringe and wide trim. If split, it would be a gorgeous trim for mantel, as well. Such an opulent beautiful piece of needlework!
