Beautiful 14k gold thimble , heavy and in its original leather presentation box or etui, case - sourced out of England with many sewing antiques, it is not marked but acid tests 14k and was presented also as 14k. It is beautifully engraved inside and must surely have been special to "E J Clay" for whom it was made or gifted. It appears not to have ever been used, so probably something very well-treasured. Very good to excellent condition for age and type, said to be Victorian to Edwardian but I find no marks. From a large group of collector's estate sewing antiques, all of fine quality. Photos taken on embroidery panels worked in tiny silk stitches - not included, but only used as a backdrop for the photos to help with color and ambiance.
