Elegant antique French sterling silver flatware set, a 3pc dinner sized place setting for two in the rare "Ferule" or Gothic style pattern and with Puiforcat hallmarks! The pattern here has always been a popular one with the Neo-Gothic style tendrils and forks with three tines. The set consists of larger dinner sized forks, spoons and accompanying ebony handled knives. All but the knives bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and so above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). All but the smaller spoon marked by the world renowned Maison Puiforcat (now owned by Hermes, Paris, another name known for opulence). An elegant place setting for those intimate evenings.
Very good condition. Some slight surface scuffs, indicative of age and light use. The knives are not original but go wonderfully both in age and aesthetic, the blades are pre-stainless so there is some darkened tarnish marks. See pictures for all weights and measurements.
