Superb antique French 1798-1809 hallmarked sterling silver confiturier or drageoir with thick blown green glass insert (you can see the bubbles) and ornate pierced or reticulated styling including figural busts & lion accents! A truly gorgeous piece though we’re thinking that the green glass insert may be either a married or custom made replacement piece rather than the original that would likely have been wheel cut clear glass or crystal. I actually like this look better but that’s just my two cents worth. Beautiful all the way around! It bears the French Coq hallmark in a few places dating it between 1798-1809 and the tiny number “1” within those marks means it’s in .950 silver (95% pure so higher than the .925 standard for “sterling” silver). The silversmith marks are for Marc Jacquart, Paris circa 1798. Magnificent and one of the more visually impressive, don’t miss it!

Very good to excellent condition. As noted, the green glass insert is likely either from another piece or a custom blown replacement. I See no damage or repairs to the sterling silver framework or lid. See pictures for all weights and measurements.
