Beautifully preserved for age, the creamy gold background is entirely worked in silk yarns while all the rest is heavy glass beads worked a single bead at a time. Elegant piece, just waiting to be made up into a luxurious down-filled decorator throw pillow. It has a folded border of canvas to work with, so the needlework panel is actually 15" square plus that edge to work with for a seam. Another one I've had for many years, expecting to find time to make up into a pillow, and now it's time to disburse them to you decorators. Simple projects - throw pillows. Found in England. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, beautifully worked and the silk yarns remain in good condition, I really don't see any missing colored glass beads. Border it with 2-3" of complimenting heavy silk or velvet, a matching zippered backing and lush fringe or passementerie - it's really such a simple project. Down-fill pillow form would be my suggestion, though feather and down mix also works beautifully. Have fun with it.
