I have a zillion beautiful old French frames, and am finally beginning to work them up to sell. If you're wanting to put together a tabletop or piano or desk grouping of your favorite photos, these are splendid grouped in various sizes and shapes, all sold separately. Almost all are c.1850-1880, "Napoleon III" era, mid-Victorian in age. A few are earlier, none later.
This one is a gorgeous square mid-sized frame, over 7" tall. A smaller and oval aperture has convex original glass. A hanging loop back and intact original 19th century convex cover glass. Ready to add your small photo and display either hanging or with easel stand. Measurements are noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition, beautifully crafted. These old ones have fine detail and this one has no damage to report. Thick cast, cloth (silk velvet) inner mat into which the aperture is set, flanked by appliqués. My favorite type of French frames. A metal tabbed back still has the original woven cloth backing open on backside fully intact.
