Perfectly preserved in its own original presentation case, etui, or box, and not a flaw to note, really. I bought this as French Sterling silver overlay, a slightly opalescent but clear glass flacon with an intricate and gorgeous encasement which is complete with the chatelaine or ring finger holder. meant to be slipped on a finger and the flask held in the palm. It seems as if it might have been so precious a gift to have been stored away for a century and a half to come forward in such nice condition. The French marks on something like this can be so tiny, I admit I am still searching for a very tiny profile of a hare in all that filagree. The box is leather on wood, 5" x 2 3/8" and 1" closed. The scent bottle is 1 5/8" in diameter and 5/8" in depth, and with chain it extends to a length of 4 1/4" long with a dainty 5/8" ring diameter.
Very good to excellent condition, I find no flaws to the silver and glass scent bottle - no hairlines or damage in the slender neck, and the stopper is pristine, as well. The old original presentation box shows some age but not much. Pushbutton opener is perfect, holds tight. Black silk velvet bottom half and silk satin lid liner in very nice condition, as well. Beautiful to display or to use.
