Fabulous set of 14 of these raised gold enamel work plates, rippled and gilded rim and encrusted gold with raised gold jewel accents hand applied. The plates are Minton's finest, famed English firm. A very interesting ground color glaze, somewhere between beige and peach - ready to elevate any table setting or to display in your china hutch. Each plate is an exceptional beauty! The Minton mark dates these between 1912 - 1950 but the decorative opulence pushes to the earliest dates, Belle Epoch.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, they are without chips, hairlines, or cracks. No breaks. The flaw I find is that some fine utensil lines can be seen on some. I'm unsure if those might just be touched up, or disregarded. Our price takes them into consideration and the digital camera and photography lights capture them more than the eye will. A truly stunning old set!
