Fabulous antique Victorian to early Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved desk or writing table top telescoping book rack with pierced or reticulated branches, oak leaves & acorns surrounding two lovely game birds on each side and all in wonderful condition! These meant to hold a small set of texts or volumes on the desk top, each of the sides is hinged and collapses flat, folds up to hold several volumes and this one even slides out to just under 21" wide to accommodate more. Very Black Forest and wonderful decorative accents!
Very good condition. Excellent really, I done see any damage or repairs other than the tiniest chip to the tip of one bird's beak. Possibly a tiny chip or two elsewhere but no real damage to note. See pictures for all measurements.
