The Grand Tour travelers of the Victorian era - travelers of wealth and standing, created industry in tourist souvenirs, and they bought them and had them sent back home as gifts and as proofs and remembrances of their wonderful travels. This is one of those and it depicts a wheel etched or engraved rendering of two unique architecturals with captions including the "Souvenir Chateau de Bade" and "Salle de Conversation".  The handle and exterior are deep ruby in color with the etchings or engravings revealing the satin finished clear glass beneath.  It has the original hinged pewter lid rim and ruby to clear glass lid insert with tendrils or vines & foliage that match the accenting on the cup itself. The souvenir architectural scenes are all etched or engraved into the surface and have remarkable detail that's somewhat hard to capture with my camera for some reason. Wonderful!  A beautiful stein, perfect for the stein and/or Bohemian glass collectors. Perhaps Egermann, but definitely Bohemian glass from the late 1800s. A fabulous piece!

Very good condition. There is possible a tiny nip or two and a scuff or two but no larger chips, cracks, damage or repairs to note. See pictures for measurements.
