Fabulous antique French 16pc sterling silver handled table knife set, 10pc 10" dinner size and 6pc 8 1/4" luncheon or entremet sized pieces with replaced stainless steel blades, ornate foliate & berry or grape bunch repousse handles and wonderful condition! Yes, the handles on this set are in hallmarked sterling silver. A somewhat incomplete set but lovely with the French sterling handles and the very presentable blades that have been replaced by a French cutlery shop. French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks on all handles, the tiny number "1" within those marks designating .950 silver content so above that of sterling silver. 'LG' maker marks are likely for Lapparra et Gabriel, Paris. A remarkable set, guaranteed to please!
Very good condition. As noted, the blades are all newer stainless steel replacements but they're all in wonderful, perfectly usable condition. A bit of dimpling here and there to the sterling silver handles but in overall great shape. See pictures for measurements.
