From my personal collections of decades, this imperfect but very appealing solid-cast bronze resting hound or dog is after (aprés) the sculpture by Animalier artist, Paul Gayrard, of France. It has another signature as you can see from our photos, meaning it is created after the original model and I've included a small illustration of the original so you can see how fine this rendition of it is. Heavy, solid bronze, it has a knock along bottom of the base, shown in detail in our photos. Full measurements are noted on the photos.
Good to very good condition for age and type, as noted above, there is a knock/chip from the base of the solid heavy bronze sculpture, apparently dropped at some point. It seems like it might be from the original casting forms of the original Gayrard sculpture, but might be a sculptors work after the original. Very close, and same size. Beautiful anatomical study!
