Isn't he darling! He's just in from France, and won't last long in our shop. These 19th century cast bronze pups never do. These were made with glass eyes, either black or red. This little guy has lost his, but it's pretty simple to get a small glass crafting bead of your choice to re-position into the open eye sockets if you wish to have the same look he once had. We've blown him up for extra large photos, but he is only 3" tall, so consider the size.
Very good condition for age and type. These little bronze dogs are popular! Seems like he is missing a tiny hook on his rope from which one would hang a pocket watch, but perhaps it is meant to hang on that extended end of his stick, to the side. Heavy solid bronze and marble. He's on a marble plinth which has a chip, noted with x on our photos. Overall, he is 4 1/4" in height.
